VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

All volunteers 18 and older working with children in the Archdiocese of Chicago are required to register with the archdiocese at www.virtus.org, complete Virtus (Protecting God's children) Training, and complete CANTS (Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System) and Code of Conduct Forms.  All training program elements are tracked so the organization knows who has or has not trained, or maintained, their Virtus requirements to be a volunteer in good standing. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to maintain their contact information, and volunteer location as current.

Please contact Flora Mangubat at Virtus.Coordinator@stgilbert.org with any questions regarding these requirements.

Virtus Training

Every training program, in addition to live and video awareness sessions, provides ongoing web-based training. These regularly scheduled online bulletins and web-based training courses reinforce the knowledge points made during the awareness sessions. Plus, most of the online training bulletins and modules are interactive allowing trainees to contact and interact with a trainer.
