RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM
The mission of the St. Gilbert Religious Education Program is to provide an atmosphere that supports families as they develop a relationship to God and the Church community. As Catechists, parents, and students, we celebrate, learn and share our faith in God. Through our actions and with the direction of the Spirit we witness to the Gospel and its command to "Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel..." (Mark 16:15)

LETTER FROM SR. DONNA
Welcome to the Saint Gilbert Religious Education Program! I am Sister Donna Schmitt, the Director of Religious Education.
Parents as the primary educators have already given the young people a love for God and the Catholic faith. The Religious Education Program is here to assist you with teaching your child about God, the scriptures, and the Church.
This Website gives you information about the Religious Education Program as well as our responsibilities and commitment to each other. In working together, we can assist and encourage the young person in making a life-long faith commitment. The members of the Catechetical Staff are excited about the opportunity to share the Catholic faith with your children. They are dedicated and committed to proclaiming the mysteries of our faith, to build the Church community, to encourage worship and prayer, and to motivate service to others.
If you have any comments or questions about the program, please contact the Religious Education office, (847) 223-3071.

FAMILY PROGRAM INFORMATION
The Family Program may be the one for you. This year the Family Program will be held in the School Gym. Sessions are held once a month beginning on September 20 following the 9:00 am Mass. The Family provides a blanket or lawn chairs used for the gathering. The sessions, once a month, have a theme; September – Mary, the Mother of God, October – the Beatitudes and Saints, November – Thanksgiving, and December – Christmas. There will be seven stations each dealing with some aspect of Mary’s life, for example in September, Mary’s childhood, the Rosary, etc. Families will move from station to station, completing various activities. After experiencing all the stations there will be a sharing of information gleaned, and end with a closing prayer. All participants will wear masks and families will practice social distancing and sanitizing in accordance with the Archdiocesan guidelines. If this program interests you, fill out the RE registration form and email or send it to the RE office. Note that the first session was held on September 20th.
