 At St. Gilbert, lectors minister primarily at Sunday and Holy Day liturgies. At these masses, two lectors proclaim the Word of God and, in some instances, announce the liturgical celebration. The schedule is arranged in three-month cycles, assigning members as Lector 1, Lector 2 or designated Substitute (if an assignee is unavailable). High school students, 8th graders and adults are welcome to join this ministry.
