bereavement"Be patient and allow the mourning process to unfold.  It is a healing process." St. Gilbert is a faith community of baptized who believe in the Gospel of Jesus.  In response to Jesus' message, the St. Gilbert Ministry to the Bereaved reaches out to comfort fellow parishioners in their time of loss and grief.

The ministers contact the family at the time of death, provide information for the wake and funeral liturgy, and also engages in follow up visitations.  The Bereavement Ministry in conjunction with the Liturgy Committee also coordinates a yearly Memorial Liturgy to remember and celebrate the life of a Loved One.

All Souls' Day Mass of Remembrance November 3

Remembrance Mass For All Souls’ Day

A Mass of Remembrance will be held on Monday, November 3, at 7:00pm in Church to honor those individuals who have entered eternal life.  The names of those who have departed from our parish community during the past year will be read as their family members come forward to light a candle in their honor.

There will also be an opportunity for others to light a candle for the deceased members of their family. All parishioners are invited to join us in praying for those who have died.  Refreshments will be served in the narthex after the Mass.
